I wasn't as focused on the dissertation, due to another major event for another very important passion in my life - The New York Stem Cell Foundation. Oct. 20, 2015 was their 10th anniversary and I was honored to have worked with them for the past 6 months and celebrate this incredible milestone. As a result, there has been a lot going on in addition to the NYSCF annual conference, but the future of so many cures to diseases really is in their work, and having witnessed it first hand I am honored to participate.
But back to the dissertation! Seven Days - Seven single spaced pages on a new chapter. I definitely faced some writers block because prior I had been writing here and there instead of every day, but I do find it getting easier which is the goal. Like the 30 day poetry challenges, I've done a few times, building/ regaining habits are key. What I've found is that over the course of a month, the what when and how you're going to write just becomes such a priority that you start composing your thoughts wherever you are...
I hope that happens soon, because my struggle is still to put my own work first. I'll deal with all my contributors and collaborators questions even if they don't need to be addressed before I take care of my own work.
So my goal for this week is to answer email no more than 2x a day, and finish 10 Pages! The writing will only get harder of the course of the next 78 days as the material is newer and less developed, but hopefully, by the time I get to that new research the writing will be more automatic.
